In the process of servicing the needs of those customers, Agility has also partnered with many third party video hardware manufacturers. This has led to an infrastructure well suited for handling network based video. Built using client-server architecture, the system can expand to support multiple types of practically an unlimited number of video sources - including IP network cameras, network codecs, and DVRs of varying brands, easily scaled video storage, as well as virtually an unlimited number of clients. The server uses a separate scaleable router component to manage video sources and clients, and an industrial-strength database to store and play back video. The use of a database for video storage and playback allows instantaneous access to any frame of video, fast searches of contextual video data, and scalability to add video sources and storage that is unmatched. The video router allows video to be sent to virtually an unlimited number of clients, each stream custom-tailored to each client’s bandwidth and display needs, without duplicating bandwidth requirements to the video source. This means that a single video source at a single rate can provide video to a low-bandwidth PC user over a modem, a medium speed link to a corporate WAN user, and high speed to a local display station – each user getting what they need without compromises, and without loading down the server or the network video source. The client, which can reside on the server in compact installations, and is included with the server, allows local and remote network viewing of live or recorded video from multiple sites on multiple display surfaces simultaneously. Because of its self-updating plug-in technology, the client can provide a single interface to multiple different types of video sources – JPEG net cameras, Wavelet network codecs, and MPEG DVRs, can all be serviced by one application. The client also provides tools to control PTZ cameras, respond to alarms, pan and zoom on video, sequence cameras for virtual tours, export clips to external Windows Media files, and much more. The NVR package can be licensed for use with third party products, or through partnership/co-marketing agreements. In addition, the package can be expanded with features specific to vertical markets such as retail and tolling, which are also available for licensing, or co-marketing.
